Water is one of the most essential natural resources required for survival of the human race. Hydrological education and studies are needed for effective nurturing of water resources and to solve water related problems. Even the developed countries of the world are feeling the pinch of depletion of surface water, ground water and water shed resources. In India, the provision of potable drinking water to all the villages is the top-most priority of the Government. Doubtless, Hydrology Engineering will provide lucrative careers to qualified candidates in India and abroad.

Eligibility, Entrance Exams and Courses :

There are no B.E/B.Tech engineering graduate courses in Hydrology. Aspirants should first obtain Graduate degrees in Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural engineering  and then do Masters’ Courses or Fellowships in Hydrology Engineering or Water Resources Management.

Basic qualification for joining B.E or B.Tech course in Civil Engineering is a 10+2 under-graduate course with science subjects.

Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE)

IIT-JEE is the most important entrance examination for Civil/Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.

A candidate must fulfill each of the following conditions:

  • Can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years.
